Where Do I Start..
This book is AMAZING! And a much needed purchase for your trip to Bali. While this is not my first solo trip to a far off land, this is my first solo trip to the other side of the world and I must say, this book (and Alexa!) put me at ease of all my worries and concerns. The book starts off with all those questions you may have right in the beginning - and she was right, this isn't a book that's written in a way that feels like you're reading a history textbook. She writes as though she's talking to you over a cup of coffee. Talking about Bali weather, what to pack, the culture norms, how to budget, what to avoid, things to know, how to prepare, and from the airport. She then takes you on a ride through many options for staying/eating/planning trips, etc. And last but not least, at the end of her journey, she settles you down with a list of Balinese food and what it is, to learning conversational Indonesian and what apps to download before you go. This book answers questions I didn't even know I had. And gives support in all the right spots. Trust me, it's totally worth it! PS, after purchasing the book I contacted Alexa on Instagram - she responded within 12 hours and answered all the questions I couldn't find in the book. Like, yes, you might want to stay a night in Amed if you want to see Pura Lempuyang from Ubud. She's awesome.
Wonderful book! Useful information & great advice!
Visiting Bali for the first time in a few weeks to attend a wedding & decided to purchase this book since I added a few days after the wedding to venture out on my own. Oh, I borrowed other Bali travel guides from my local library that has fancy color photos and lots of history, but this guide (and the author's encouraging words!) has me less anxious about traveling solo in a country I have never been before. I'm now looking forward to trip even more and know that if I had read this book before I purchased my plane ticket, I may have extended my stay another week (or two!)

Miss Alexa! I recently purchased her first book, Thailand: A Solo Girls Travel Guide. I love the way Alexa really puts her heart in it. She is the gal who you want to travel with. So why not take her book along. You can only get tips like this if you have actually lived there. Not just traveled but really LIVED there. And it shows. I have been to Bali and stayed for a bit. However after reading her book, I may have missed a few things. She makes me want to go back and re-do my trip all over again. ;) Take this book. Mark it up. And take that trip! Practical and useful
I have bought many travel books in my time. But this is hands-down the most practical, useful travel book I have ever read. I leave for Bali in a few weeks and I feel this book has totally prepared me for my trip. She also breaks it down into different budgets. Which makes it easy to find accommodations. She also runs a Facebook community of women that travel solo. This community has given me such great tips and advice. I'm telling you you cannot go wrong with these books. Thank you Miss Alexia. It's obvious you put your whole heart into your writing.
Best Bali travel guide!!!
This will be my first trip to Bali on a girls trip for my 40th bday! This is by far one of the best travel guides I’ve ever read!!!! And I travel quite often. I ordered a few books on Bali and Alexa cuts thru the bs and gives you a safe, honest plan for your trip! Let’s be real, we really want someone else to tell us all the secret spots and give us a road map. She does just that with even sample itineraries!! Of all the books I ordered, I really just needed this one! She is self published so it’s all black and white pics but I just googled the images I wanted to see. Plus there are endless photos on Instagram which she references thru out the book! Bali really is an instagramer’s dream! Being female it’s nice to know reputable places! I highly recommend this book to anyone traveling to Bali or check out her other books!
The eat, pray, love guidebook
I went to Bali alone, last minute, with only this book as my guide. Recently divorced and 62, I just read and followed her suggestions blindly and they lead me through paradise. I caught her passion and honesty, made friends, and found her advice on point and priceless. I read the book. Put it on my kindle, and tore out the itinerary pages and brought them with me. I can’t wait to return. This is the most useful, concise guidebook I have ever used and it gave me the courage to be bold and venture out. There are healers is Bali. This book was all I needed. Bali herself provided the rest through the eyes and passion and transparency of the author. I ate,, I prayed, I loved. ❤️
Best travel guide i've ever bought
This is the gal you want to travel with!! If you are trying to visit Bali, do yourself a favor and buy this book before you go. It contains all the useful information you are actually wondering when you plan, the kind of info only someone who lives there would know, and it makes you want to scrap anything you were thinking about and follow her advice. It's an easy read, like talking to a friend, not reading a stuffy formal guide book. She responds to messages super fast also, when you send questions. Worth every penny!!
AMAZING.
This book is phenomenal. Alexa might be the COOLEST person to ever exist and she shares all of her knowledge over the best place ever throughout this book. My trip to Bali was amazing and this book is undoubtedly a huge part of that reason! I traveled there alone and met the coolest people along the way, all of which LIVED by this book I had over there. We literally called it our Bali Bible. Alexa is always willing to answer questions on social media as well. If you are wondering if you should buy any of her books, the answer is 100% yes. She is amazing and her books are just as well.
Don’t waste your time with dense travel books- this is all you need, solo or not!
This book was incredible! I am not a “solo” travel girl. Planning to go to Bali next year on my honeymoon with my fiancé/future husband. It doesn’t matter. I can still use Alexa’s recommendations. You can finish this book quickly, and you won’t be overwhelmed like reading all of these other, dense travel books. This book is simple, organized & everything you need! Also, Alexa is sooo funny. This book was hyped up for me when I read the reviews, but the book lives up to the hype. Really glad I bought it, and now I’m the girl giving the (well-warranted) 5-star review. :)
Great Book, Pics Not in Color
Book is full of great info! Looking forward to researching. Only giving 3 stars because I feel like for $30 the pictures should be in color. I feel like the black and white pictures on plain paper take away from the intent to provide a visual cause some pictures are hard to see.
